Congratulations to Matt Kay, Queen Mary film studies alumnus, whose short film Little Miss Sumo screened as part of the ‘London Calling’ session at the BFI London Film Festival on Thursday 18 October.
Queen Mary – proud supporter of the Living Wage 6 November 2018
Queen Mary was the first accredited university in the UK in 2006 to pay a real Living Wage, and is also a founding partner of the Living Wage Foundation, which was established in 2011 to recognise the leadership of employers who choose to pay a real Living Wage based on the cost of living, not just the government minimum. Disruption to London transport services – Wednesday 7 November 5 November 2018
London transport services on the Central and Waterloo & City will be disrupted if potential strike action by certain Tube trade union members goes ahead on Wednesday 7 November. If it goes ahead, the Central and Waterloo & City lines will have very limited or no service throughout the day on Wednesday 7 November, with normal services resuming the next day.
A separate strike on the Piccadilly line planned for Wednesday 7 November and Thursday 8 November has been suspended.

LISS DTP Open Studentship Competition 2019-20 5 November 2018
The London Interdisciplinary Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership studentship competition for entry in October 2019 is now open. LISS DTP invites applications for four year (1+3) studentships for candidates for a masters degree leading directly to a PhD, and for three year (+3) doctoral studentships (PhD only) at one of the LISS DTP partner institutions, which includes Queen Mary.
