International Stammering / Stuttering Awareness Day 2024

International Stammering / Stuttering Awareness Day (ISAD) is on Tuesday 22 October 2024. The day raises awareness of issues faced by those who stammer and challenges negative assumptions and stereotypes; including that people who stammer are nervous or less intelligent and the use of stammering in culture for comic purposes.

Bisexual Awareness Week and Bi Visibility Day 2024

Bisexual Awareness Week, also referred to as Bi Week, takes place annually between 16–23 September, culminating with Bi Visibility Day. The week draws attention to the issues faced by the bisexual (bi) community, including erasure and visibility.

By both celebrating the bi community, while still acknowledging the difficulties and discrimination that bi people continue to face, it is an important opportunity to learn more about the history, culture, community, and current policy priorities of bi communities.

Queen Mary students' passion takes flight

Muhammad Arslan Badr, Mechanical Engineering Student and President of the Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Society at Queen Mary has teamed up with fellow students Marah Mohammad Kaddoura (first-year BSc Accounting and Management), and Trisha Mason (fourth-year BA French and Business Management) to build and market a drone for the annual Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) competition.
