In-Person Exams January 2025: don’t forget your student ID card

If you are sitting exams on campus during the January exam period (6-21 January 2025), please see our guidance on how to prepare for the day.

Published:

You are particularly reminded that you need your student ID card with you as you will not be allowed into the exam room without it.

If you have lost or forgotten your card, you should do one of the following before heading to the venue:

  • Purchase a replacement card at a cost of £20. You can do this in advance by paying online and collecting it from the Student Enquiry Centre (SEC). Or, pay at the Fees desk and collect from SEC. Please be advised that the SEC and Fees desks are next to each other on the Ground Floor of iQ East Court, Mile End Road, or;
  • Obtain a temporary permit from SEC on the day of your exam only. Please note you can only have one temporary permit generated for each exam period and it is only valid for examinations you have on the day it is printed. Therefore, if you have multiple in-person exams, you should purchase a replacement card instead.

Please visit SEC in advance where possible as we expect queues during the exam period, particularly around exam start times. You are welcome to drop-in to obtain a replacement ID card before the exam period starts. If you need to visit on the day of your exam, please make sure you leave enough time to get to SEC, queue and arrive at the exam venue before your exam begins.

SEC is open weekdays until 5pm on Monday 23 December and reopens on Thursday 2 January 2025. Please check our website for opening hours.
