UK Disability History Month (UKDHM) is upcoming between 16 November to 16 December 2023 and will be marked at Queen Mary with a range of events.
The theme for UKDHM this year is 'Disability, Children and Youth'. UKDHM 2023 will explore how disabled young people have been treated in the past and currently to help shape ideas of how disabled people should be treated and valued in the future.
Queen Mary's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) team will be running some activities for UKDHM 2023 but would love to hear from you about how you will be actively contributing to the whole institution approach to celebrating Queen Mary’s disabled community, and how the EDI team can support to maximise the reach and impact of your plans.
Please contact Darren Hunwicks (EDI Officer) with details of your activities by the end of Friday 10 November ready for the mid-November launch.
Our UKDHM webpages will be updated on Fridays throughout the month, so please provide any new or updated content by end of the day on each Thursday.
From organising previous awareness and inclusion dates we would recommend that you give at least two-weeks notice for any event in order to maximise the opportunity for promotion and attendance / engagement.
