Students can access emotional support through our Advice and Counselling Service. Counsellors can offer in-person or online appointments, which can be requested by completing the self-referral form on MySIS:

  • Click on the Student Services/SEC Online tab at the top of the page
  • Select Submit a request for counselling or mental health advice
  • A member of the team will get back to you as soon as possible

Welfare and International Student Advisers in the Advice and Counselling Service can provide specialist advice on a range of practical issues, including money and student immigration permission. To access practical support at any time during your studies, please complete the contact form to get in touch.

Visit the Advice and Counselling Service website to find out more:

To support students impacted by these events we have amended our extenuating circumstances policy, to assist with assessment completion and submission.

Students can also access support from Queen Mary’s multi-faith chaplaincy, which is open to all staff and students.

The Queen Mary Students' Union have issued a statement of support for our students and everyone affected by this disaster, which includes details of fundraising initiatives. Read the statement on the Students' Union's website.
