Suicide Awareness Training

The Academic Development team have arranged three short suicide awareness sessions with the Samaritans.

These sessions will cover:

  • raising awareness and understanding of the different issues that lead to suicidal thoughts and actions or self-harm
  • understanding the warning signs of suicide and depression
  • thinking about how to approach individuals and offer support
  • understanding the importance of listening
  • sign-posting to further help and support (at QMUL and outside QMUL).

The sessions will run at the following locations:

Wednesday 11 October, 2–3pm, Arts Two 3.20, Mile End campus.
Please arrive by 1.50pm for a 2pm prompt start.

Wednesday 1 November, 2–3pm, Garrod Building 1.21, Whitechapel campus.
Please arrive by 1.50pm for a 2pm prompt start.

Thursday 16 November, 1–2pm, People’s Palace LG01, Mile End campus.
Please arrive by 12.50pm for a 1pm prompt start.
