Study space on campus

As part of a pilot scheme in the Bancroft Building at Mile End, a number of teaching rooms will be available for students to use as (non-silent) study space when there’s no scheduled activity taking place.

Published:

This is in response to requests for spaces where students can actively participate in online seminars and discussion groups. These rooms will only be available for individual use and not group study, to comply with Covid-secure guidelines.

Signage on room doors in the Bancroft Building will highlight which rooms are available for use as a study space, and the Queen Mary app will show the times when there is no scheduled activity taking place via the 'Room Availability' tile.

While using the rooms, face coverings must be worn apart from when you are seated and 2-metre social distancing is to be maintained at all times. Surfaces should be wiped down when you start using the room and again when you have finished. No furniture is to be moved. As the rooms will be used for scheduled activity at other times, and cleaned during the day, please leave the room promptly when asked to do so.
