QTaster career insights - autumn applications close Sunday 6 September

QTaster autumn applications are now open. After successfully running QTaster Summer virtually, we are planning another virtual QTaster Programme with up to 18 organisations hosting their visits online. 

This is a great opportunity to boost your employability, CV and career prospects from the comfort of your own home.

Is QTaster for me?

QTaster is ideal if you have ever had any doubts or uncertainty about your future career path – the programme gives you a real life insight into individual roles and sectors.

What will a QTaster virtual session involve?

All QTaster sessions will take place online. These may include:

  • Presentations by different speakers from across the organisation
  • Virtual tours of the offices
  • Information about their internship and graduate recruitment processes
  • Interactive online activities
  • Facilitated online networking sessions
  • And, of course, the opportunity to ask lots of questions!

What Employers are hosting QTaster this Autumn?

So far we have secured Microsoft, HSBC, Liberty Comms, Expedia, Thomson Reuters, FDM Group, Civil Service, Media Com, Springer Nature, Fidelity International and Ernst & Young. Up to seven more organisation are on the list to sign up.

Commitment

The programme will take place over the autumn term, from 22 September to 26 November 2020. Most sessions will take place on Wednesday afternoons so students will need to ensure their availability for them.

Introduction Session (1 hr) Tuesday 22nd September / Wednesday 23rd September 2020 (You will be required to attend one of these dates).
4 x QTaster online virtual events which will take place over 4 dates, depending on which employers you are allocated to (visits last for 1.5 to 2 hours) You will attend 4 virtual QTaster events during these dates which will all take place on a Wednesday afternoon: 7 October, 14 October, 21 October, 28 October, 11 November, 18 November.
Career Development Workshop (1hr 30 mins) Wednesday 25 November / Thursday 26 November (You will be required to attend one of these dates).

Eligibility

Due to funder requirements, this programme is only open to undergraduate students and a limited number of postgraduate students.
