Help us to understand the importance of bursaries for students and how our students manage their finances in the QMUL Student Financial Support Survey 2018, open to all returning students on Monday 22 October.
£1,000 of every £9,250 of university fees for a home university student has to be spent on supporting students from under-represented backgrounds to go to university and succeed while they are there. At Queen Mary, we spend the majority of that money on bursaries for students. We are working with the Students’ Union to understand the importance of bursaries for our students, and to understand better how our students manage their finances. This research will feed into our policies on financial support for students, so it is really important we get as many responses as possible.
A key part of this research is a survey, which asks about how you managed financially in the 2017/18 academic year. If you were a student at Queen Mary last year, you will receive an email containing a link to the survey on Monday 22 October, and the survey will be open for three weeks. If you can take a few minutes to complete this survey online, we’d be very grateful. All responses are anonymous: we are not asking for names, and nothing in the final report will identify any individual students. As a thank-you for completing the survey, you’ll be entered into a prize draw for a chance to win £100 or one of two £50 Amazon vouchers.
Many thanks
