Sheila Gupta, Queen Mary's Vice-Principal (People, Culture and Inclusion) has written to all students encouraging us to support one another during these difficult times and highlighing support available.
Dear student,
I wanted to write a short note to you about the ongoing war in Ukraine, which we are monitoring closely. It is so saddening to see.
I recognise that this may affect our communities in different ways, and that those of you with families and friends in the affected region will be particularly concerned. Please do reach out for help if you need it via the Advice and Counselling Service. If you have financial concerns relating to the war please also speak to Advice and Counselling in the first instance.
Please also support each other: these times are when our strong sense of community at Queen Mary is really important. If you are worried about a friend, reach out to them, or speak to your Advisor or contact student wellbeing.
The situation in Ukraine is dominating our headlines. Sadly, there are issues of different kinds ongoing all over the world. If you are concerned about anything, remember we are here to support you: do please reach out for help.
Best wishes,
Sheila
