Ace Week (20 - 26 October), formerly Asexual Awareness Week, is an international campaign dedicated to raising awareness and expanding education of asexuality.
At Queen Mary, we use ‘ace’ as an umbrella term for anyone identifying under the asexual or aromantic umbrellas. Asexuality is a legitimate lived identity but is a commonly misunderstood part of the LGBTQIA+ initialism. This lack of understanding can have negative effects on ace people.
Queen Mary is committed to celebrating and supporting our LGBTQIA+ students and staff, including those who identify as ace. To find out more you can read our Ace Inclusion and Allyship Booklet [PDF].
If you are a student who identifies as ace, QM LGBT+ Society provides a safe space for all members and allies of the LGBTQIA+ community at Queen Mary and LGBT+ Society (Whitechapel) is a welcoming and supportive environment for all LGBT+ medics, dentists, and other students studying in Medicine and Dentistry.
