Our strategy

Queen Mary's Strategy, which covers 2014-2019, sets out a plan for ensuring that we continue the success that has been achieved over the last decade. 

Crucially, the Strategy makes sure our work is in line with the values and ethos of the institution, which are so important to our staff and students and make us a distinctive member of the Russell Group of 24 leading universities.

The Strategy states that Queen Mary is dedicated to the public good and the transformation of wider society.

The Strategy focuses on our people (students, staff and alumni); on achieving ever-higher standards in research, teaching and the student experience; and on embedding an international dimension and public engagement into all of our activities. It also notes the importance of ensuring Queen Mary is financially strong enough to deliver its objectives.

The Strategy is a key document that provides a framework for Queen Mary's planning and for key decisions. It was developed after extensive consultation with staff and students in 2014. 

The Strategy microsite also hosts our strategies for Student Experience, Teaching, Learning and Assessment (SETLA), Research and our International work. Once the consultation process is complete, we’ll also publish our Public Engagement strategy.
