A message from President and Principal Colin Bailey:

We are in the process of developing a new strategy for our University, to set out our vision, aims and objectives for the next 10 years. I want to invite you all to have your say on what you think is important for us to consider in making these plans.

Queen Mary is a fantastic university. We are however working in a very volatile environment for higher education, and we also know that there are areas where we can improve. Our new strategy will provide a framework to ensure Queen Mary provides the highest quality education and experience for students, informed by world-leading research and underpinned by engagement with our local communities. Our challenge now is to create that framework – and your input into this is crucial.

Do please come along to one of the drop-in sessions listed below to share your thoughts. The events will be hosted by University staff alongside your Students' Union Executive Officers:

  • Monday 3 December, 5-7pm, BLSA Building Study Room, Whitechapel
  • Tuesday 4 December, noon-2pm, Room 3.1, CCLS, Lincoln's Inn Fields
  • Thursday 6 December, noon-2pm, Blomeley Room 2, Students' Union Hub, Mile End
  • Friday 7 December, noon-2pm, The Shield Café, Charterhouse Square

There's no need to register – just turn up and share your thoughts over pizza and refreshments!

If you can't make one of the drop-in sessions, please send your ideas and comments to strategy@qmul.ac.uk or visit the stand outside the Students' Union Annual Members Meeting from 5.30pm on Tuesday 4 December (the meeting starts at 6.30pm).

Best wishes

Colin Bailey
President and Principal
