IT file migration to OneDrive

Over the summer, IT Services will be making some changes to your IT storage at Queen Mary.

Published:

IT Services will be migrating your Home Drives (G: drive) to OneDrive so that accessing your files becomes easier and more convenient.

This move will give you the following benefits:

  • Anytime, anywhere access to your files, including when off campus
  • Collaborative MS Office document editing
  • A new user-friendly interface
  • Improved mobile (phones and tablets) experience.

What will happen?

In July and August, your G: drive will be migrated to OneDrive. Once you log in after the migration, you will no longer see your G: drive but you will see OneDrive instead.

Further details, including the date of the migration, will be provided nearer the time.

What do I need to do now?

Undertaking some general housekeeping of your home G: drive will make the migration easier. Find out more.

Once your drive has been migrated, any existing shortcuts you have to your home drive will no longer work. You may wish to look at removing them prior to migration.

IT Services will contact you again when the migrations are scheduled.
