Humans of Queen Mary: meet the people that make our community

Our new series Humans of Queen Mary introduces the many faces and voices that make up our University. Students, staff, alumni and friends share snapshots of their lives and what makes them unique.

We are proud to launch a new series of stories featuring the people of Queen Mary’s diverse community. Inspired by the long running Humans of New York series, Humans of Queen Mary is a growing collection of reflections on the individual lives that shape who we are as a university. Contributors discuss their lockdown hobbies, how they bond with friends and family, or what they do for their own wellbeing.

Follow Humans of Queen Mary on the @officialqmul Instagram.

The series launches by introducing Noah, a student in the School of Law, who remembers how he and friends have adapted their tradition of weekly pub quizzes, and reflects on how relocating because of the pandemic has helped him grow closer to family.

Get involved! We want to hear the stories that show we are all part of the wider community of Queen Mary. To take part, please get in touch with humansqm@qmul.ac.uk with:

  • A brief insight into your life – an unusual hobby, a reflection on a relationship, or just something that makes you happy - in 100-200 words
  • A high resolution image that represents you
  • Your name and which part of Queen Mary you belong to
