The UK Engagement Survey (UKES) ran for the first time at Queen Mary this year, replacing the Queen Mary Student Survey (QMSS). It was open to all undergraduate students who were not eligible to complete the National Student Survey (NSS).
The UKES gives you an opportunity to reflect on your engagement and learning and to provide feedback on your course and experience at Queen Mary. The survey is administered and promoted by the University on behalf of the Advance HE, the national body that champions teaching quality.
Overall satisfaction this year was 78 per cent. A number of service-related questions were carried over from the QMSS and indicated an increase in satisfaction this year with a number of facilities, including the library, food and drink outlets, the gym, and reflection, prayer and contemplation facilities.
The results of the UKES have been shared with schools, institutes and professional services, who are all drawing up action plans to address the issues raised by students. We will also be working to provide the best student experience and education through the Going for Gold initiative.
Take a look at some of the action that has already been taken in response to student feedback on the Tell us, we listen page.
