Staff Student Liaison Committees (SSLCs)
Every School and Institute has a Staff-Student Liaison Committee (SSLC). The role of the SSLC is to address matters relating to students' learning experiences – ranging from teaching and learning, to assessment and feedback and learning resources. You can see the type of issues raised at your School or Institute SSLC by looking at the minutes on the ARCS website.
All SSLCs have Course Representatives on them. These are student volunteers who are elected by their course mates to represent their views and to and raise course-related issues on their behalf. Queen Mary Students’ Union (QMSU) organise these elections – nominations open on the first day of term and elections are held in October. More information about the role of Course Reps, including how to stand for election and how to vote can be found on QMSU’s website.
