There are lots of different ways that you can get involved at Queen Mary. You can join one (or more!) of the many clubs, societies and sports on offer from Queen Mary Students' Union (QMSU) – and if you don’t find one you want to join, you can create your own!
QMSU also run a great volunteering programme offering hundreds of volunteering opportunities in the local community. Each year, students volunteer on one-off, short-term or ongoing placements with a range of different organisations in the local area and across London. You can also join a student-led volunteering group and contribute toward good causes including Bow Foodbank, Teddy Bear Hospital, Student Action for Refugees (STAR), Aspire, OpenMinds, and more! Not only is volunteering a fantastic way to boost your CV, but it also feels great to be part of something really special.
There’s also the chance to have a real influence on QMUL itself by running in QMSU’s various elections – you could become a course or faculty representative, a halls representative, an officer focusing on themes such as societies, sport, student media, multiculturalism and LGBT. You could even become a sabbatical officer and have a hand in running QMSU!
Whatever you want to do – there’s plenty for you to choose from at QMUL!
