We are re-configuring our campuses – including our lecture theatres and other learning spaces, our libraries, and our study and social spaces – to make sure that we can all maintain social distancing and the hygiene standards necessary to mitigate the risk of coronavirus. Find out more about the 2020 student experience.
As we begin to reopen our campus facilities the safety and security of our students, staff and our wider community is our top priority.
A number of study desks in different locations on the Mile End Campus are now available to book.
Current locations are summarised below – you can find them by looking at the campus map.
Toilet facilities are open in each location, and there is access to networked printers (MFDs).
Please note that the Mile End Library is currently providing a limited onsite service, comprising bookable study space on the ground floor (silent study only) and a pre-arranged click and collect service for borrowing library books which are not available online. Risk assessments for all study spaces have been carried out. Enhanced hygiene measures have been put in place and social distancing at 2m applies. We expect all service users to behave responsibly, and in line with the Queen Mary Code of Student Discipline.
In order to make the Mile End campus Covid-Secure, all students must pre-book before visiting the campus. You must be currently enrolled on a course of study at Queen Mary, and have a valid university ID card. Since study facilities on campus are still limited, please only request to use this space if you do not have suitable facilities at home.
You can make bookings via the Library booking system.
You will need to agree to a set of Terms and Conditions at the time of booking, which are necessary to keep you and the other students using the study space safe. There are limits on the length of time and number of slots that you can book per week, to help us provide this service to all who need it.
