New Year changes around campus

Monday 9 January 2017

Welcome back to all of you returning from the winter break, and a very warm welcome to new students joining QMUL this semester. We hope you had a relaxing time over the holidays. Now you’re back, you may have noticed some changes that have taken place around campus.

The refurbishment of the Mile End Library is now complete, with 101 additional study spaces, dedicated silent areas, an active learning and study centre, and improved facilities, including water supply and lighting.

Our brand new Graduate Centre opened this week, providing 7,700 square metres of new learning and teaching space, a 200-seat lecture theatre and seminar rooms, and a new café on the ground floor. It’s also the new home of the School of Economics and Finance.

The foyer in the Queens’ Building is also being refurbished, with works due to conclude in mid-March. During this time the main entrance and reception to this building will be via the east wing.

We’re always working to improve your student experience – keep an eye out in the next week for further examples.
