If you are from a low income family, but you do not wish to take out any loans, you could still be eligible for the QMUL Bursary. However, you do still need to be assessed by Student Finance England (SFE). In order to get this done please contact SFE on 0300 100 0607 and notify them that you wish to be 'household income assessed for bursary purposes only' – they will send out some paper forms for you to complete, along with your financial sponsor’s (usually your parents) household income data.
You will be asked to give your consent to your information being shared with the university. If your sponsors/parents are submitting financial details about themselves as part of your application, they will also be asked to give their consent. Without this consent we will be unable to view your financial data.
If you are eligible to receive a QMUL bursary you will not have to repay it.
We have different QMUL Bursary packages depending on which year you started studying, more information on what you may be eligible for can be found here.
Assessments are ongoing throughout the year and providing that your financial information reaches us before 31 July 2017 we will assess you for a bursary. If you have any queries on your eligibility then please contact us here.
Once you have been approved for a bursary you will receive an email from the Student Loan Company (SLC) that will tell you that there is correspondence for you and to log in to your online portal to access this.
