Centre of the Cell invites QMUL staff and research students to share their experience and enthusiasm as STEM (science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine) Ambassadors. Anyone with an enthusiasm for science and a wish to convey that enthusiasm to children and young people is welcome. You will be needed for just one day a year - unless you wish to do more!
Our STEM Ambassadors support school visits to our Pod suspended above the Blizard Institute laboratories at QMUL’s Whitechapel campus. Primary and Secondary students learn about cellular biology and current research through interactive computer games, see human organs on loan from Barts Pathology Museum and have a chance to speak with real STEM professionals about their careers.
To become a STEM Ambassador you will need to attend a 2.5 hour training session about communicating with young people and undergo a free DBS check by STEMNET London.
