Reminder from Security: Remember to guard valuables and report suspicious behaviour

Monday 16 May 2016

To reduce the risk of theft, please make sure personal property such as laptops, wallets, purses and mobile phones are not left unattended at any time. Please ask a friend to look after your property if you step away for a short period.

There have unfortunately been several thefts from the Mile End campus in recent weeks, including from student accommodation. If you notice suspicious conduct at any time of the day, contact Security immediately:

Mile End (France House): 020 7882 5000 mile-end-security@qmul.ac.uk
Whitechapel (Garrod Building): 020 7882 2599 whitechapel-security@qmul.ac.uk
Charterhouse Square (Dawson Hall): 020 7882 6020 chsq-security@qmul.ac.uk
Lincoln’s Inn Field: 020 7882 5000 mile-end-security@qmul.ac.uk

To secure your home whether on or off campus, please make sure to lock all doors and windows when you leave home and make sure your valuables and cash are out of sight.

You can ensure your valuables are ‘marked’ on the UK national register via the Immobilise website: https://www.immobilise.com. This helps the Police to identify the owners of recovered property.

The websites below have further tips and advice on how to minimise the risk of crime.
