Queen Mary Skills Award 2016

The Queen Mary Skills Awards helps students recognise, strengthen and market the work-ready skills you develop by taking leading and representative roles in the Students’ Union. So far over 245 students have registered for the Award. In the first Semester we had 14 ‘soft-skills’ training sessions with very positive feedback.

This semester we have 11 training sessions and skills development reflective sessions. Find out more here www.qmsu.org/employability/qmskills/

QMSU Employability Project Fund

The Employability Project Fund is a one-off pot of money made available by the Queen Mary Annual Fund. The money is available to allow Students’ Union groups to run specific activities that will improve the employability of their members.

A fantastic 32 student groups applied this November. A total of £12,686.76 was applied for, and with only £5000 to give out, the panel had some tough decisions to make. The variety and creativity of the 32 proposed projects demonstrates that the leaders of QMSU groups are thinking of creative ways to enhance the employability of their members.

The 18 awarded groups are delivering a wide range of employability skills, from covering curriculum gaps in their courses by delivering practical skills workshops, to organising innovative career networking events.

The projects which will conclude in February with groups submitting an impact report. Find out more here https://www.qmsu.org/employability/projectfund/
