This morning we experienced issues with accessing external web based services, including websites (such as the IT service status page) and webmail. This was due to major connectivity issues with the Janet network, which provides internet access for the UK research and education community. This issue affected multiple universities.
The majority of problems have now been resolved. Janet has also brought in additional engineering resources in case of any further incident and continues to monitor the situation.
