Science and Engineering undergraduate students have the opportunity to attend The British Conference of Undergraduate Research 2016, which takes place in Manchester from 22 to 23 March 2016.
Would you like to present your research and get insight into the ways professional research communities work, find out about research at other universities and become more confident in communicating your ideas? If so, Queen Mary’s Annual Fund will sponsor Science and Engineering students to attend the British Conference of Undergraduate Research (BCUR 2016). BCUR promotes undergraduate research in all disciplines, and undergraduates of all levels from the UK and abroad are invited to submit papers, posters, workshops and performances to the Conference. For more information: http://www.bcur.org/
Queen Mary’s Annual Fund will be paying for up to 20 Science and Engineering students to attend BCUR 2016 and will cover your registration, travel and accommodation costs. To receive funding you will need to:
- Be an undergraduate in the Faculty of Science and Engineering
- Contact the Queen Mary BCUR 2016 Project team and register your interest (email: email@example.com). We will then inform you of the selection criteria and process (as a minimum, this will involve submitting an abstract to the project team).
- If selected, you will then submit an abstract to the conference organisers.
You should register your interest by November 30, 2015. The deadline for submitting abstracts to BCUR is the end of December. You can find more information on the BCUR website (http://www.bcur.org/). Alternatively, if you’d like to find out more, email Julian Ingle from the Learning Development team. He’s the person co-ordinating the BCUR project for Queen Mary, and is happy to chat.
