Over the summer, IT Services have refreshed and updated more than 1,500 computers on campus to Windows 8.1. You might notice some enhancements when using computers in the libraries or PC labs, including the latest version of Office 2013 and that signing out is a bit easier.
There will be no changes to your apps or files. If you do have any problems signing in to a computer on campus, please contact the IT Helpdesk on 020 7882 8888.
IT Services has also introduced OneDrive, which lets you store all your files in one location in Microsoft’s cloud environment, with the ability to access them from a phone, tablet, computer or anywhere with an internet connection. For more information, visit the IT support pages.
Call us 24/7
We are now providing additional evening and weekend IT support for QMUL students and staff. If you call the IT Helpdesk on 0207 882 8888 outside of 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday, including weekends and bank holidays, you will be put through to an operator who can offer general advice and help with requests such as password resets, Wi-Fi (eduroam) connection issues, and login issues to various applications. The out of hours phone support service (called NorMAN) can deal with a range of general IT queries, but some services are not yet available, such as issuing passcodes. If your query can’t be resolved, a ticket will be raised and passed to the IT Helpdesk for further investigation.
