TEDxQMUL videos now available online

Tuesday 22 September 2015

Over the summer, QMUL hosted our first ever TEDxQMUL event at the Mile End campus. Students and staff worked together to create a day of talks, food and networking around the theme of ‘Community’. The independently organised and community-inspired showcase sought to connect the local community with students, staff and alumni.

Former President of the Queen Mary Students’ Union, Dola Osilaja commented: “I believe community is the coming together of students, staff, alumni and those living in the local area whilst celebrating the diversity of cultures, religions and views.”

The day saw six talks delivered by a variety of different speakers, from undergraduates to PhD researchers, and coffee shop workers to conservation biologists. They discussed the theme of community in various contexts including globalisation, capitalism and conservation.

The playlist of six videos is available on YouTube: youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsRNoUx8w3rO7hDixSPU7tSRaXH9Ha_Fq
