Monday 3 August 2015
London transport services will be disrupted if another planned 24-hour Tube strike by union members goes ahead on the evening of Wednesday 5 August.
The strike will start from 6.30pm on Wednesday 5 August and disruption is expected to last all day on Thursday 6 August. Transport for London (Tfl) said they are expecting a normal service to resume on Friday 7 August. More information is available on the TfL website: https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/tube/tube-strike.
Staff on the bus network, DLR, London Overground, tram and TfL Rail services will not be on strike. All of these services are expected to be much busier than usual, so please allow more time to complete your journey if you are planning to visit campus during this time.
Information for students sitting Late Summer Re-sit exams
This is to remind you that you must get to your examinations on time. All examinations will take place as normal on Thursday 6 August. If you are late for an exam or miss it because of travel disruption due to these strikes, you will not be able to claim this as an extenuating circumstance because these strikes were known about in advance.
Please take the time now to plan alternative ways to get to your exams and assessments, allow for longer journey times and check the TfL website before you travel: https://tfl.gov.uk/.
Planned strikes do not always go ahead, sometimes being called off at the last minute, so please do check the TfL website before you travel for live updates.
