Films United have just finished producing their first feature film, “51º North”, a cross-genre film that seeks to raise awareness of the potential asteroid threat to Earth whilst entertaining the audience. It presents expert knowledge on astronomy, featuring interviews with real scientists’ findings, marrying documentary elements into a gripping fictional narrative structure.
The feature has inspired a global movement to protect the planet – Asteroid Day. Films United are hosting Asteroid Day: Science Panel Discussion and Private Film Screening of 51º North to inaugurate the first ever annual Asteroid Day. The event will begin with a Q&A session with the science panel and director of the film - Grigorij Richters. It will be followed by a short talk by Richters who will introduce the private screening of 51º North. There will be an after party which will be a great opportunity for industry networking.
Tickets are now on sale to the event that will take place at the prestigious Science Museum in London on 30th. Some of the brightest minds in science have shown their support by signing the 100x Declaration which can be found here.
