Wednesday 20 May 2015
On Wednesday 20 May, Queen Mary wrote to all students with regards to the potential rail strikes on Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 May. Read the message in full below:
National rail services may be disrupted if a planned 24 hour strike by RMT and TSSA rail union members goes ahead on Monday 25 May. The strike will start on Monday 25 May at 17:00 for a period of 24 hours, concluding at 17:00 on Tuesday 26 May.
This is to remind you that you must get to your examinations on time. All examinations will take place as normal on Tuesday 26 May. If you are late for an exam or miss it because of travel disruption due to these strikes, you will not be able to claim this as an extenuating circumstance because these strikes were known about in advance.
Please take the time now to plan alternative ways to get to your exams and assessments, allow for longer journey times and check the Network Rail website and train operator websites before you travel.
Planned strikes do not always go ahead, sometimes being called off at the last minute, so please do check the Network Rail website and train operator websites for live updates before you travel.
