Student Update: New Graduate Centre – pre construction work gathers pace and access through Fogg Building now available

Thursday 4 December 2014

Demolition of the old Post Room and the IRC Building on the site of the new Graduate Centre at Mile End campus starts tomorrow Friday, 5 December. Following the demolition, the construction of the centre is now expected to begin in February/March next year.

Arrangements have now been made to allow students and staff to use the Fogg Building foyer as a walk through between the main campus and Bancroft Road between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, starting on Monday 8 December. Outside of these hours access will be restricted to students and staff who are authorised to access the Fogg Building only.

As a result, students and staff will no longer have to detour via Mile End Road to access Bancroft Road from Geography Square and vice versa. These new arrangements apply to Queen Mary students and staff only and as a result the existing directional signage will remain in place.

We will continue to update students on how the Graduate Centre works progress.
