QMEquality - Day of Action Against Gender Violence

Join QMEquality on Thursday 4 December for a day of workshops, discussions and talks on combating violence against women and girls. All of the events will take place in the Students’ Union Hub, Mile End campus. Refreshments provided and all genders welcome. 

10:00 – 14:00 - Blomeley Room 2 (SU Hub Ground Floor)
Join Lucy Allwright, Tower Hamlets Violence Against Women and Girls Officer, and Nadia Baksh, of Newham Asian Women's Project for our daytime workshops.
The sessions are as follow:

11.10 - 12.10 Domestic Violence
12.10 - 12.40 Break
12.40 - 13.40 Honour Based Violence

19:00 - 20.30 - Matt Spencer Board Room (SU Hub First Floor)
Join Aamna Mohdin, MSc Imperial, whose research focuses on women's health in the Somalian diaspora, and Reina Pathan, Law Student with a focus on women's rights and international human rights for a workshop on FGM, exploring the physical, emotional and legal aspects of FGM, as well as the grassroots activism against FGM from women within FGM practising communities.
