Dear Students and Staff
It is with great sadness that I write to inform you that an undergraduate student from Queen Mary died in the early hours of Sunday morning, following a road traffic incident.
Kieran Dhaliwal was a third year undergraduate, studying for a BSc in Economics and Finance. He was a popular and hard-working student who, as well as being very dedicated to his studies, contributed a great deal to wider university life, and will be deeply missed by his lecturers, friends and other staff from across Queen Mary.
If any staff or students would like some help in dealing with this news, support is available through the QMUL Advice and Counselling Service. To find out more about how counselling can help at times like this, and how to arrange to see a counsellor, see: www.welfare.qmul.ac.uk/services/counselling. If you would prefer to initially contact the Advice and Counselling Service by telephone or email, rather than in person, you can call 020 7882 8717 or email via the website enquiry form: http://www.welfare.qmul.ac.uk/contact/index.html#email.
On behalf of the whole Queen Mary community I wish to extend my deepest condolences to Kieran’s family, friends and fellow students.
Professor Jeremy Kilburn, Acting Principal
