QM launches mobile app for students

Tuesday 11 February 2014

QM has been working away at developing a new mobile application for students. The aim of the app is to make everyday life at QM a bit easier, by making timetables, library services, PC availability, campus maps, and much more available in one place. The free app is available to download in the Apple, Google and Blackberry app stores, so download it now and try it out for yourself! The app is also available as a web app: qml.campusm.net.

Features currently in the app include:

  • check your course timetables on the move
  • log into QM Plus and your QM email
  • search the library catalogue, renew books, and view fines
  • check PC workstation availability across all of our campuses
  • search campus maps for buildings and locations
  • access social media from your School or Faculty, and from Student Services
  • Your Guide – useful links to Student Services and Support
  • information, news and events from Queen Mary Students’ Union

The app was launched in a testing phase in mid-January, and a group of QM students completed testing scenarios and gave comments and feedback about their experiences using the app. The feedback was taken into account and is being incorporated where possible to improve the app’s usability, design and functions.

Feedback is welcomed and can be submitted under the ‘settings’ tab in the app or the ‘settings’ icon in the banner on the web app. The app is set to continue to develop and grow, and becoming an essential part of the QM community’s day-to-day life. Keep an eye out for further developments and updates in order to ensure you’re not missing out!
