On Thursday 2 January we welcomed our largest ever Spring intake of Study Abroad and Erasmus students, with over 300 students from around the world arriving to commence their studies with us.
Study Abroad staff met new students at Heathrow Airport on Thursday 2 January and travelled with them to QM where they were greeted by Residential Support staff who assisted their moving in to QM accommodation.
The students then took part in a range of orientation events, including a welcome lecture from the Principal, a River Thames boat cruise, and sightseeing tours of London and the local area.
If you're a new student and have just joined QM, make sure you visit the Student Guide website - the home of all of the information, advice and help you might need during your time here at QM: www.my.qmul.ac.uk/studentguide.
Principal, Professor Simon Gaskell, spoke of the largest ever intake in his welcome speech: ‘We have a long history of welcoming students from the across the world. Our associate student intake is becoming increasingly diverse and we are pleased to welcome students from Australia, Brunei, Canada, China, Egypt, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Korea, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey across both the Study Abroad and Erasmus programmes.’
QM has a thriving Study Abroad programme for more than 40 years and has been participating in the Erasmus programme since its inception 26 years ago.
