Have you been taught by QM’s Teacher of the Year

Thursday 2 January 2014

Queen Mary Students’ Union is holding the second annual Education and Teaching Awards, giving you the chance to recognise the efforts of your teachers and show your appreciation by nominating them for an award. The Education Awards bring together the SU’s Course Rep awards and QM’s Teaching and Learning Awards, to celebrate all the good work that is taking place across QM.

The awards will be presented at a special Awards Evening, which is a brilliant opportunity to congratulate the most hard working and dedicated teachers who make a QM degree what it is. It can be a wonderful sign of gratitude and a huge boost of motivation for a teacher to receive an award. University staff and students alike can be under a lot of pressure and it is events like this which make it all worth it. These events rely on your support and involvement to give something back to your QM community.

It is really easy to nominate, simply visit the Students' Union web page and follow the link. You are asked to support your nomination with a 500 word explanation about why you think this teacher deserves an award. The awards are run by the Students’ Union and so the panel will be made up entirely of fellow students who will select the winner for each category based on your explanation. There are ten different awards to represent the various forms that outstanding teaching and support can take.

  • Teacher of the Year
  • Assessment and Feedback Champion
  • Learning Resources Champion
  • Academic Support Champion
  • Innovative Teaching Award
  • Employability Enhancement Award
  • PGR Supervisor of the Year
  • Postgraduate Teaching Award
  • Support Staff Member of the Year
  • Course Rep Champion
