Calling QM’s future Alumni Ambassadors

Monday 3 June 2013

The International Office and Alumni Office are looking for final year international students who would be keen to become Alumni Ambassadors for QM. This new voluntary role is open to students from all academic disciplines who would like to provide some assistance to incoming students from their home country.

Very often prospective students are keen to speak with current or former QM students about their experiences at the university, and so we are looking for our fresh graduates to be on hand to answer any questions and concerns our new applicants might have. We know that you will all be busy starting a career (or taking some well-earned time off!) in your chosen industry and would like to stress that we do not envisage the role of an alumni ambassador taking up too much of your time.

Simply being on hand to answer a few questions and share your experiences of QM with the occasional student, via email or Skype, is all that will be expected of you in the first instance.

In the future, we may send you opportunities to get more involved if you wish, helping us with the following, but these are entirely optional:

  • Arrange alumni receptions in your home country.
  • Organise or help to grow our alumni chapters in your home country.
  • Participate in recruitment events with staff from the International Office.
  • Take part in pre-departure briefings.

If you are keen to become an alumni ambassador in your home country then please contact Lee Wildman in the International Office: l.wildman@qmul.ac.uk.
