Postgraduate Experience Surveys

Thursday 4 April 2013

If you are postgraduate student you will have been contacted by Queen Mary to ask you to consider responding to postgraduate experience surveys. Postgraduate students are asked to respond to either the Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) or the Postgraduate Taught Experience Surveys (PTES), depending on your mode of study. You will have received an email from Queen Mary which contains your unique link to complete the survey, so check your QM email for the link.

The PRES and PTES are your chance to feedback to us about your time as a postgraduate research or taught student at Queen Mary. It is always helpful to hear of suggested improvements or initiatives that we can make to improve the experience of postgraduate students.

PGR students will have received an email from Professor Bill Spence, Vice-Principal for Research, and PGT students will have received an email from Professor Susan Dilly, Vice-Principal for Teaching and Learning. These emails contain a link to the survey that is unique to you – click this link to complete the survey. Please note that when completing the survey, once you move on from a page, you cannot return to it.

The PRES is open until Thursday 16 May, and the PTES is open until Thursday 31 May. The surveys only take around ten minutes to complete and all responses are treated as confidential. The findings we publish, internally and externally, will be aggregated and anonymised.

If you have any queries about the surveys, please contact Simon Booy, Executive Officer for Teaching and Learning at Queen Mary: s.d.booy@qmul.ac.uk.

The PRES and PTES are national surveys managed by the Higher Education Academy. You can find out more about the surveys at http://www.heacademy.ac.uk/pres and http://www.heacademy.ac.uk/ptes.
