Andy Smith’s column – Easter 2013

Monday 25 March 2013

It's been a busy month again at BL, with much to shout about.

One of the major pieces of news is the outcome relating to the West Smithfield library. This has shown the changes that lobbying the university can have and we should be very pleased with the end result.

Furthermore, we have the BL rugby 1st team retaining the United Hospitals cup, the first team other than Imperial to do so since the 1970s. Find out more and see a picture of the winning team here!

On a sporting thought, BL put out a stormer of a performance at Merger Cup this year. Certain clubs, notably Netball and Football, put in standout performances and despite not hauling in the points, there were fantastic performances in racquet sports also.

All in all, there has been so much student achievement going on - shortlisting for the Association Dinner Awards will prove very difficult!
