Café Scientifique – Monday 4 February

Monday 4 February 2013

The next Café Scientifique will be held next Monday 4 February, from 6-8.30pm in Drapers Bar and Kitchen on the Mile End campus. Café Scientifique evenings are regular events for PhD researchers and research staff. The idea of the event is to create an informal, relaxed atmosphere where researchers from all disciplines can meet and chat, and also present their work and ideas to a broad, friendly audience.

Each evening generally consists of short presentations, wine/soft drinks and pizza, and other activities such as a quiz, a debate or a creative challenge. Normally all the talks are from research students or postdocs, but this time there will also be a presentation from Professor Peter McOwan (Vice-Principal, External Partnerships and Public Engagement) titled ‘The Magic of Computer Science’.

The other talks at this event are from:
• Usama Lodhi (School of Biological and Chemical Sciences) – ‘Computational Modelling: Where Design and Chemistry Meet’.
• Neera Joseph (Institute of Dentistry) - title to be confirmed.
