QM intends to minimise disruption during any strike

Tuesday 29 October 2013

Trade Unions - Unison, UCU and Unite - are taking strike action on Thursday 31 October 2013 in higher education institutions across the UK, including Queen Mary. That means that staff who are members of those Unions have been called upon by the Unions to not fulfil their contractual requirements, which may include not coming into work.

Your School will attempt to minimise disruption and will inform you of any alternative arrangements as soon as possible. If you have any concerns, or encounter any issues on the day, please contact your School.

Some background information on the general circumstances leading up to this action are outlined on the staff intranet Connect, which most students can access when logged-in to the network. Information is also available from UCEA (University and Colleges Employers Association) and from the Union websites - Unison, UCU and Unite.
