ITV and Peter Andre to hold ‘One For the Boys’ male cancer checks at Westfield

Friday 4 October 2013

On Friday 11 October, pop and TV star Peter Andre joins ITV’s This Morning to host a male health clinic at Stratford’s Westfield shopping centre – just one stop from Queen Mary’s Mile End campus - aimed at raising awareness of male cancers. Students aged 18-44 are invited for a testicular cancer check. No examinations will be filmed and experts will be on hand to answer questions on the day.

Several TV stars – including Phoenix Nights comedian Dave Spikey and Coronation Street’s Charlie Lawson have agreed to be tested for signs of prostate, bowel and testicularcancer.

The clinic forms part of a week-long This Morning campaign, which sees the show join forces with Hollywood star Samuel L Jackson to encourage men to get tested.

Jackson will be hosting a series of films on This Morning throughout the week, as part of his 'One For The Boys' male cancer awareness campaign. These include an interview with actor Michael Douglas about his battle with cancer.

This Morning are targeting men who ignore possible symptoms of cancer and refuse to go to the doctor for a check up.
