I would personally like to extend a warm welcome to you, as you return to Queen Mary for another academic year.
The sense of community here at QM is vitally important and in this vein it is exciting that we will be awarding our own Queen Mary University of London degrees for the first time in 2014. You will have been asked at re-enrolment whether you would like to receive a Queen Mary degree or alternatively be awarded a degree from the University of London. More information about this change is available below.
During the coming year we will look to build on our recent achievements, notably the latest set of NSS results, which showed that QM’s students are the most satisfied in London. We were also very pleased with the outcome of the recently published ‘QS World Rankings’, which placed QM within the world’s top 120 institutions and within the UK’s top 20.
Of course we continue to look for ways to improve your experience and I would be interested to hear your views at the ‘State of the Union’ event, which I will be attending at the invitation of your QMSU President, Sarah Sarwar. This takes place on Monday 2 December, and more information will be publicised in future editions of QM Student. I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible at this event. Of course, in the interim, please feel free to contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org with any comments you may have.
