The Stu Magazine has announced the UK’s first ever student food, drink and lifestyle festival at the University of London Union on 26 January 2013, from 10am – 6pm. The one day event is set to serve up a platter of flavours from across the globe and offer culinary advice designed especially for students. The Stu Festival is a celebration of student culture while focusing on promoting a message of a healthy lifestyle and encouraging use of good quality food while studying.
The Stu is a healthy food and lifestyle magazine for students, currently distributed free in student unions across London. It is a welfare initiative designed to educate young people, many of whom haven’t cooked for themselves before and are living away from home for the first time. There are also new easy recipes and tips every on the website www.thestu.co.uk
Visitors will have a chance to learn from gastronomic experts aiming to inspire creativity in the kitchen while on a tight student budget. Sorted Food, one of YouTube’s top subscribed food channels, will be hosting several interactive demonstrations in The Stu Kitchen Theatre. Charlotte Sendall, who recently became The Stu’s resident chef and star of the weekly cooking webseries StuTV, will be joined by her co-host Gareth Shoulder to film an episode live onstage.
The venue also plays host to a speciality food and drinks market, featuring food producers from around the world and a fitness gaming contest with amazing prizes.
As well as being able to sample free food and drink, The Stu are offering 500 free swag bags for those that get there early.
