Queen Mary, University of London Students’ Union is pleased to announce the opening of the new Students’ Union Hub on Monday 12 November. The exciting new space will be home to the Unions’ Executive Officers and Union staff involved with societies, representation, volunteering, welfare and student media. The Hub is located centrally on the Mile End campus behind Ground Café and next to The Hive.
The newly renovated spaces will open up a great new range of opportunities for students and student groups. New bookable facilities, a large new social space, renovated multi-faith rooms and a new student media suite will be great enhancements to the Queen Mary student experience.
The Students’ Union Hub has facilities on 3 floors. On the ground floor is new reception and info point for students to purchase memberships and event tickets, set up meetings with Union staff and officers, finding out about Union activities and services, and for general enquiries about the Union. A large social space with several seating areas for booked meetings, casual meetings, studying or hanging out with friends is adjacent to the Unions ground floor offices. Two large bookable rooms are also available which are equipped with tables, chairs and AV equipment for a variety of events, training sessions or meetings.
The first floor provides access to the renovated Hive and is also the new home for the Unions’ Academic Advice Service.
The second floor will have a new student media suite, Union staff offices and a Multi-Faith Centre.
The Students’ Union Hub opened on Monday 12 November at 9am and will be open Monday to Fridays 9am-9:30pm and on Saturdays from 10am to 5pm. The Multi-Faith Centre opened on Monday 26 November. An official opening of the Students’ Union Hub will be taking place in January at the beginning of the second term. The opening will be centred around the Re-Freshers Fair and will include competitions and events.
