Thursday 25 October 2012
In October 2012, the College launched Green Impact: Universities and Colleges for its second year. Green Impact is an institution-based environmental accreditation scheme, which encourages pro-environmental behaviours by staff across departments. It empowers sustainability champions by providing them with a framework by which they can gain guidance and recognition for their environmental efforts.
So far we have 30 teams registered so it looks like it is going to be a very busy year!
A new opportunity for student involvement has been created in the form of a Project Assistants (PA) for Green Impact Teams. The PA role is a great practical way for students to get involved in the sustainability initiatives taking place across the College. PAs will work alongside Green Impact teams throughout the year helping them to green their department in a fun and creative way.
Recruitment has closed for Project Assistants, however, we will be recruiting Student Auditors in early in 2013, so please register your interest by contacting the Sustainability Team.
What can you do now?
Lobby your School or nearby Department to participate in Green Impact! Further information on the Green Impact scheme can be found on the Green Impact page.
