Earlier this month, the College joined the Fairtrade Foundation’s UK-wide campaign, Fairbake.
Staff and students baked cakes, biscuits, cupcakes and flapjacks using Fairtrade ingredients and the College Sustainability Team and Student Society, Green Mary, held a fundraising stall in Library Square on 26 September 2012 to raise funds for the Fairtrade Foundation. In addition to this, College staff held events in their departments to raise funds and awareness (including: IT, Communications, HR and all three Libraries).
The College raised a total of £124 for the Fairtrade Foundation!
Thank you to everyone who baked cakes to our stall donated funds and supported this successful event. The funds will support the work of the Fairtrade Foundation, ensuring producers in developing countries receive a fair unexploited wage, enhancing local education and improving sustainability.
Continue to support Fairtrade into 2012-13 by getting involved with Fairtrade Fortnight from 25 February to 11 March 2013 and keeping up to date with new events and campaigns. Why not get involved and create your own event?
