Do you want to make a difference at Queen Mary?

Thursday 25 October 2012

Without your feedback, we wouldn't have been able to make the changes you wanted to see. For examples of the ways you and your fellow students have improved the student experience at Queen Mary, take a look at the You Said, We Did page.

One important way of having your say about your university experience is getting involved in student surveys. The National Student Survey recently showed where we are doing well, but more importantly, where we need to work harder. Take a look at how Queen Mary did: www.qmul.ac.uk/nssemail

Coming up, you've got the chance to take part in the Student Barometer surveys. We really need your response – ideally we want to hear the opinion of every student at Queen Mary. To encourage your participation, there are some great prizes on offer.

The independent organisers of the survey are offering a prize draw for the opportunity to win £1,000. The College is offering an additional prize of an iPad 2 to one Queen Mary student, drawn at random from all of you who complete the survey.

Last year, Emily from the School of Medicine and Dentistry was lucky enough to win the prize draw after she completed the survey. Babs Williams, Queen Mary Students' Union President and Tania Rhodes-Taylor, Director of Marketing and Communications, came to meet Emily and present her with the iPad to say thank you for taking part in the survey:

The information gathered by this survey is vital to the College in helping us listen to students' opinions and making real changes to improve the student experience. Real improvements have already been made in areas such as the library, IT services, visa advice and more, but there is always more to be done. If you want to let the College know how you feel about things here at Queen Mary, this is your opportunity to make yourself heard.
