Easier, greener, faster… new student print and copy facilities are now available in all student service managed labs, the Hive and the libraries.
“Printing in the libraries and student labs has been a source of stress for students for too long. The new service promises to reduce the time spent hanging around printers waiting for your work to appear. The extension of the QM iPay system also means there is less hassle in topping up your account as this can now be done online with a credit or debit card,” said Emma Bull, Director of Student Services.
Using the new print services
Printers are available in all Student Service labs and the Libraries. Library devices can also photocopy and scan.
To print, direct your job to the black and white or colour print queue. You then have 24 hours to visit a printer that’s convenient for you, swipe your college ID card and confirm which jobs you’d like to collect. If you have forgotten your ID card, jobs can be released by entering your username and password at the device.
To print from your laptop device, you will first need to download the wireless installer package.
QM iPay account
Printing, photocopying and Library fines are all paid for using your QM iPay account, which is linked to your College ID card.New students receive a complementary £4.00 of credit. Returning students ITS print account balances will automatically be transferred to their iPay account.
You can also top up your account using the cash kiosks located in each of the libraries.
Scan services are free but charges for print and copy apply as follows:
|Black and white|
All printers will print double-sided
